The last time someone tried to proselytize to me, IRL, it went like this:
Lady:"You know smoking is bad for you."
Me:"Yep, but I enjoy it."
Lady:"Have you heard the good word of the lord Jesus Christ?"
Me:"Yes ma'am, I have - and I don't wish to be rude, but I believe in something else. You see, once upon a time, an evil sorcerer appeared in the land, kidnapped the princess and broke our sacred crystalline pyramid thingy into eight pieces, hiding the pieces in caves about the countryside - and a young man, wearing a green tunic, carrying a sword and a shield, went on a heroic quest to recover the pieces, kill the sorcerer and save the princess. He succeeded, and restored light to the world - and one day, when evil threatens again, that same man will reappear to cleanse the land of evil."
Lady (with a quizzical look):"What ARE you talking about?"
Me:"Well, ma'am, I'm a member of the Hylian faith. Surely you've heard of 'The Legend of Zelda'."
Lady, with an angry look:"You have a nice day."
...at which point, I gestured sticking a sword up in the air, and started whistling the Zelda theme.
